The students of our regular Acrylic Painting Course are taking over the Inside Out Gallery to showcase their incredible work in our Wesnesday Wanderings exhibition!
Ran by amazing local artist Kath Rodgers since 2021, our regular acrylic painting courses remains a hit!
We have an amazing body of work to show you from our 2026 cohort, featuring amazing scenes from the Land of Oak & Iron and beyond. The exhibition will run from the 5th November to the 3rd January, so you have all of the festive season to come have a look at some amazing local art!
Welcome to Wednesday Wanderings

We don’t want to spoil things too much, but we are revealing a few paintings before the big day – including this beautiful painting named ‘Path to Cherryburn’ by Neil Radbourne (above).
“This painting was one of my earlier paintings completed in the Wednesday classes. Working from a class photograph, we needed to pay careful attention to the light and shadows from the right. Using a blue wash on the shaded area in the foreground and stippling sky blue on the background trees are just two of the techniques to provide the desired effect.” – Neil
As usual, paintings in the exhibition will be for sale, at reasonable prices that get you original fine art in your home without a high price tag. We are including long-time students as well as newer artists to the group, each of them developing their own unique styles and exploring their own inspirations. We’ll be hearing from more of them about how the painting course has benefitted them!

Our Acrylic Painting Course

“I am thoroughly enjoying this informal and friendly class. Kath is super encouraging and motivating in her instruction. I am fulfilling a lifelong ambition to learn to paint.”
– Michelle Davidson
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience with acrylic painting, there’s always something to learn and ways to grow and Kath is amazing at getting people to make art at their fullest potential. Our last course of the year starts on the 18th November for those who would like to join our friendly group of artists. We can provide advice on painting kit, and you’ll get a free tea or coffee each session from our café!
We’re excited to see everyone celebrating their creative work in their exhibition, and we look forward to see what our students produce in 2027 as this amazing group continues after the New Year.
“We hope you enjoy viewing a selection of the art group’s paintings as much as we’ve all enjoyed producing them.” – The Artists

“I recently joined the Wednesday class with a bit of nervous anticipation. The class were exceptionally warm & welcoming, and Kath guides, challenges and encourages you.”
– Sammy Dunworth
