We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered in England & Wales (Charity registration number 1188152)
We set ourselves up:
- to promote the conservation, protection and enhancement of the natural, industrial and cultural heritage of the Land of Oak & Iron
- to advance the education of the general public in the natural, industrial and cultural heritage of the Land of Oak & Iron
When the Land of Oak & Iron Partnership came to an end in 2020, a band of enthusiastic volunteers decided to set up the Land of Oak & Iron Trust as a registered charity to continue to work with schools and youth groups, research the area’s history, produce maps, books and educational resources.
- Heritage Education and Development Group: works with schools and youth groups
- Publications Group: is involved in the production of books and leaflets
- Research Group: researches and creates thematic maps, such as waggonways and mills
We welcome volunteers to these groups. If you’d be interested in getting involved with this, please get in touch
