NE Dog Wash at Land of Oak & Iron

Treat Your Four-Legged Friend to a Post-Walk Wash!

The logo of NE Dog Wash, which includes a logo that is the silhouette of a dog, is printed large on it's back wall. In the background is the Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre
Our dog wash is located near our bike stands, visible when walking to our centre from the Derwent Way and accessible from our courtyard.

The Heritage Centre is the perfect starting point for exploring the stunning lower Derwent Valley, with riverside strolls, woodland trails and muddy meadow walks all on our doorstep – so there’s plenty to discover with your dog right from the Heritage Centre. We’re known as a dog-friendly site, which also means your pooch can come with you to have a nice coffee, a bit of breakfast or a hearty dinner. Our new offer is our way of bringing even more dog-friendliness to our customers who value it!

As the seasons change and the weather turns wetter, walks can end up with a very wet and muddy pooch! We already know some of our regulars enjoy their dips in the Derwent River. But now you don’t need to worry about taking a soggy dog into your car or home … we have a new dog washing station!

Having a good scrub!

For a small fee you can wash off muddy paws and soggy wet fur.  It’s a great way to clean up before heading home after exploring the great outdoors with your dog. There’s also a choice of shampoos and somewhere to attach the lead to secure your dog. No need to bring any extra bits like towels!

Our cafe always has plenty of treats on hand for our four-legged visitors when you’re finished. Why not treat your well-behaved dog to a pup cup or some of our delicious doggy snacks?

You can find our dog wash to the rear of the Heritage Centre building next to the courtyard.
