Dusty Souls Art is one of the leading professional feather artists in the UK. Join us at the Land of Oak & Iron to view her amazing pieces in our Inside Out Gallery.

“My inspiration comes from the feathers themselves and my deep appreciation of nature and wildlife,”
Imogen Clark, hailing from Whitley Bay, has loved art and the natural world from being a child. After starting her adult life, she decided to return to the those roots and become a self-taught artist, inspired by the life around her in the North East. Later, she decided to take the plunge and learn the technique of feather painting which lead to her becoming one of the most proficient feather artists in England.
The process of feather painting is technical, with precise brushwork and extensive knowledge of feathers needed to create beautiful pieces. Her work sells and exhibits internationally, so this is a great opportunity to see her gorgeous work first hand.
“Every feather behaves differently. For example, a goose feather is more robust than that of raven feather which are finer, less robust and have looser barbules. On top of species type, anatomy, health, and age also make each feather unique. It’s only through years of painting, trial and error that I have learnt how to work with the feather.”

Dusty Souls Art is an amazing multidisciplinary artist. Her acrylic paintings include amazingly vibrant colours and dramatic landscapes. Her feather art is delicate, particularly highlighting individual animals and their personality. She sometimes incorporates these expressive works on wood and in jewellery, creating unique one-of-a-kind pieces.
Every one of the paintings we have displayed in our gallery is available for sale. If you would like to purchase a piece, please approach our cafe staff for more information.
