What to Expect
Plant Swap

Plant swapping is a great way to find new exciting plants to add to your collection, and it is free! All you need to do is bring a plant you would like to swap, it is as simple as that.
Here is what one of our regular artists, Gail from Snail Trail said about last years plant swap:
“Gardening is so good for our mental and physical wellbeing, whether we have a huge garden or just a little space and whether we grow flowers, fruit and vegetables or houseplants. If you are a keen gardener (or a “plantaholic” like me – I’m on the lookout for a streptocarpus by the way!) or a beginner in the art of green fingers you will enjoy swapping plants and gardening tips at Land of Oak and Iron’s plant and seed swap. I got a tomato plant last year and we had loads of fruit from it! Maybe you have grown plants from seed this summer and ended up with too many, or perhaps you have divided some perennials or houseplants. Even if you have no plants or seeds to swap, come along and get some advice, make a donation to Groundwork charity and take away a plant for your little patch of heaven.”
Live Music

We have Northern Roots join us between 12pm- 3pm. Bill Elliott and Kev Youldon of Northern Roots will be at the Heritage Centre singing to our visitors in the Courtyard.
‘Northern Roots’ musicians Bill Elliott and Kevin Youldon have been playing music together for over 30 years. They perform a variety of Folk songs, both traditional and contemporary from the UK, Ireland and the USA on a variety of instruments, including guitars, mandolin, low whistle and Cittern. They have played at many Folk Clubs, Festivals and Special Concerts and will again be performing at this year’s Durham Miner’s Gala on the 12th of July.
