Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea
This year we are bringing back Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, at the Land of Oak & Iron.
You can reserve a table in our café on Sunday 30th March and enjoy a lovely Afternoon Tea with a selection of homemade sandwiches, mini quiche and pies, fruit & cheese scones with clotted cream and chutney, home-made cake and tea/coffee. Or for an extra special treat, you can also purchase a glass of Prosecco too!
As we’re located in the beautiful Derwent Valley, you could set off from the Heritage Centre and enjoy a stroll together, followed by our delicious Afternoon Tea – a great way to spend some quality time with the Mam in your life.

Meet the Maker
Whether your mam loves plants, jewellery or candles we have some wonderful gifts in our shop. Our current Meet the Maker Mooi offers beautiful handmade jewellery, which would make a perfect gift for your mam to treasure. A selection of Mooi creator Charlene’s work is available to purchase for a short 2-week period in our shop or directly from her on the Meet the Maker Day (Saturday 22nd March 10am – 4pm), where you can browse, purchase or commission a bespoke piece of jewellery.

We also have a selection of other handmade gifts like tweed pillows by Cloth Dolly Crafts, glass ornaments by Nat Yates, bird books written by local ornithologist Michael Turner, sweet treats from The Canny Candy Gadgies and chutneys from Fat Lass Preserves.

Vouchers
To make the present extra special we can create a voucher for you to give to your mam, for free. Once you have purchased your ticket email us at la**************@************rg.uk with details to what event you have purchased and a short message. We will then create a voucher that you can come and collect from our Heritage Centre.
