The Land of Oak & Iron Story programme is running from June 2026 for 2 years and aims to refocus the spotlight on the area’s rich and fascinating heritage. With funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Groundwork NE&C is supporting The Land of Oak & Iron Trust and other key partners to engage with the public and empower local communities to volunteer and get involved, exploring the area’s rich heritage and landscapes through a range of educational and cultural initiatives.
With many incredible stories to tell, the Land of Oak & Iron Trust’s volunteer Research Group will play a pivotal role in this engagement programme. This event is a chance to meet members of the Research Group, explore what has already been mapped and documented, and think about what may still be left to discover. We will be inviting new volunteers to join through this event, so if you are interested, please consider signing up after attending.
