About the musicians: Aaron Potter is an accomplished performer whose largely narrative songs are true to life and lived experiences, both happy and sad but always moving and interesting. Songs of storytelling, taking inspiration from his young daughter, relationships, childhood, his addictions, work on building sites, heartache, love. “When something happens, I write”, says Aaron.
For over a decade, Aaron has been a regular face around the North East singer songwriter and festival circuit. 2025 saw the release of ‘The Coin’, Aaron’s album produced and recorded at the studio of acclaimed North East songsmith Martin Stephenson.
To perform and promote the album, Aaron teamed up with Newcastle based folk rock skiffle band The N E Rails, who add vibrancy and a vitality, flavouring the songs from a rich musical palette that gives his work a timeless quality and a feeling of familiarity too. NE Rails take their name from their association with The Station East bar in Gateshead’s Railway Quarter, the band’s headquarters.
