Discover the magic of cyanotype, also known as sun printing, and create your own striking blue-and-white artwork using sunlight.
Using specially prepared paper (or fabric) coated with cyanotype chemicals, you’ll arrange objects on the surface to create silhouettes that block the light. As the paper is exposed outdoors or under a UV lamp, you’ll watch the image develop before your eyes. Once rinsed, the print transforms into the vibrant blue-and-white design that makes cyanotype so distinctive.
We’ll provide a selection of plants and flowers to experiment with, but you’re welcome to bring your own objects to create unique prints. Items such as glassware, bottles, lace, leaves, and other interesting shapes can produce beautiful results.
