Fancy learning a new skill while creating a one-of-a-kind Christmas ornament to treasure or gift? Come along to this relaxed, hands-on workshop and discover the traditional art of metal embossing.
You’ll start with a practice piece to help you get comfortable with the tools and techniques. Once you’re comfortable with the tools and methods, you’ll move on to your personal project.
You can choose from our supplied designs or bring your own. You will be shown you how to transfer your drawing onto metal, and bring it to life through embossing. Along the way, you will learn tips and more embossing techniques. Once your embossing is complete, we’ll add the finishing touches by aging the metal for a vintage look. If you fancy you can also add a splash of colour – it is Christmas after all!
Templates are provided, or feel free to bring your own design ideas. If you are bringing your own design, we’ll be working on a piece of metal of 15cm x 15cm, so a design a centimetre or two smaller than that will fit well.
The Christmas ornament would make a wonderful hand-made gift, or just keep it all to yourself!
