Event Details

Land of Oak & Iron is the perfect place to take your 4 legged friends for a walk – our Heritage Centre is dog friendly and we even have a doggie treat menu too!

To celebrate our 4 legged visitor friends, we are organising an event especially for them (and their human folk) with another Bark in the Park! It was such a great success last year – so we’re doing it all again!

Join us in and around the Courtyard for dog themed stalls and a fun dog show with different categories such dog with the waggiest tail, dog most like their owner, favourite rescue dog, best in show and lots more!

Book your pooch into the show now – limited spaces in each category: BARK IN THE PARK – DOG SHOW | Land of Oak and Iron

Scribble & Patch will be back and taking bookings for your dog to get their paw print in clay – you can book directly with Scribble & Patch here.

We will also have some doggie themed stalls, including Gayle Hall Pop-Up Dog Photo Booth, David’s Dog Deli, Jeanet Ingwersen Ceramics, Lavinia Hunter Pet Portraits, Mammy’s Biscuits Dog Bakery, Sarah Loveland Photography, Snoods 4 Dudes, Bryson’s Animal Shelter, Mersey Tyne Creators and Marley Fields Pet Accessories.

The Dog’s Trust will be joining us too with some dog training activities. Gateshead Dog Warden will be here with some great advice and may be leading a friendly dog walk too.

It promises to be a very dog friendly and sociable event – we can’t wait to see you! (We ask that dogs are kept on their leads in and around the Heritage Centre).

Our café will be open for lunch and refreshments, including our dog treat menu (polite notice all our seating areas are for café customers, including benches and planters – we have a lovely meadow area next to the Heritage Centre should you wish to bring a picnic).
