Join the Friends of Red Kites and members of Sunniside Local History Society for a leisurely stroll around Derwenthaugh Park, learning about the Butterfly Bridge, Ambrose Crowley’s 17th century water powered ironworks and ‘model village’, the Derwenthaugh coke works and of  course the iconic red kites.

No booking is necessary, just turn up at the start of the walk with suitable footwear and clothing; the walk will last approximately 2 hours.
