Event Details

Join Living Woods North East for their Woodland Networking Day at Milkwellburn Wood near Chopwell Village.

Mark Dinning from Durham Wildlife Trust will lead a ‘walk and talk’ in the morning around Milkwellburn Wood.

We will be looking at PAWS restoration (Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites) at various stages of the process, including staged thinning of conifers, 8-10 year old broadleaf planting and also natural regeneration.

There will be question and answer sessions as we go round – we will be joined by colleagues from both Woodland Trust and Forestry Commission, looking at the role and importance of ancient woodlands, and also challenges around the regulatory side of operations.

For this particular event you will need sturdy footwear, suitable clothes and bring your own lunch and refreshments.

This event is organised by Living Woods North East. You can sign up to their event through Eventbrite:
