Event Details

Join us at the Heritage Centre for an entertaining evening of fantastic live music and fresh wood-fired pizza on the last Friday of every month.

At the end of the month, why not treat yourself to a delicious freshly made, wood-fired pizza from Lucca Pizza’s Vintage Trailer, which will be situated in the Courtyard area.  Plenty of indoor seating if the evening is a bit chilly.

Enjoy an evening of original acoustic folk music from local performers and singer songwriters Bookends and their musician friends, husband and wife duos Jim & Marilyn Gibson and Louise & Steve Bradley.

Alcoholic drinks (along with non alcoholic drinks) and sweet treats will be available to purchase from café shrub to enjoy alongside the pizza and music. No need to book, just turn up and for a great evening between 6pm – 9pm (last food order 8.30pm).

A bit more about this month’s musicians:

Bookends are made up of Brenda and Andy Kyle who have been writing and performing songs together for about 11 years. “It started as a bit of fun, but it’s got into the blood now! We would class our music as contemporary/indie folk with a twist.”

Many of Bookend’s songs have been inspired by family, friends, personal experience and the North East places that they love … and indeed reference to the beautiful Antrim coast where Andy was brought up.

“We enjoy creating sweet melodies and interesting harmonies, sometimes with a sprinkle of funny bones dust! We have had the pleasure of participating in workshops with Boo Hewerdine, Edwina Hayes, Karine Polwart and Stu Hannah (of Megson) and hope some of their influences have rubbed off on us!

Our plans are to record an album of our songs this year…..we have over 70 to choose from!”

Bookends will be joined by their musical friends, husband and wife duos Jim & Marilyn Gibson and Louise & Steve Bradley.

Based in the North East, Jim & Marilyn Gibson are a husband and wife duo who play acoustic guitar, electric bass and, more recently, Celtic harps. Also incorporating vocal harmonies they cover a wide variety of styles from standards to folk, contemporary acoustic songs with an emphasis on well written lyrics and a growing repertoire of their own original material including tunes written for two harps. Just for fun!
