“I use the figure in many works, individuals carrying out the everyday activities. Recent reflection upon beach life, family and café culture are areas I intend to focus upon over the coming year. I aim to imply that the individuals depicted, experience a genuine quality of life that may not, on first impressions be apparent.
I have a passion for drawing, perspective, colour and pattern through the diversity of print media, enjoying challenges and the surprises each process provides along the way.
Employed as an Academic tutor at Sunderland University, teaching printmaking for Illustration, Graphics and Fashion, I also work as a freelance artist/consultant within community settings, initiating projects.
I exhibit my work widely nationally and internationally. Recently exhibited at Baltic Gateshead and Awagami Factory, Japan. I was selected to show at Printfest Ulverston 2022 and received the Haighs Award.
I am currently showing alongside Manchester Academy members at Stockport War Memorial Gallery. I have been selected to take part in Sheffield Print Festival November 2022 and have been invited to show at Rheged Great Print 8 Exhibition, Penrith January 2023. “
