Event Details

Help Tyne Rivers Trust protect the banks of the river Derwent from erosion. Learn traditional techniques of weaving willow to create man made, yet natural looking barriers to stabilise the bank side.

Please wear old clothes and suitable footwear, bring a packed lunch and a drink; please bring work gloves if you have them.  All other tools will be provided – please contact Jenny Elliott to let her know if you intend to go along.

Meet at the entrance to Derwenthaugh Park adjacent to The Red Kite pub at 11.30am. Public car parks are available at Swalwell Juniors Football Club and Blaydon Tennis Club, alternatively catch the number 45 or 46 bus between Consett and Newcastle.
