About the artist:
Rosemary has over 30 years of experience teaching Pottery and other Arts and Crafts. Rosemary’s own ceramic work is predominantly hand built pieces using either stoneware clay or porcelain and mostly in vessel form. She favours using traditional methods of coil and slab building.
Using a variety of burnishing and decorating techniques, juxtaposing the smooth and textured areas, Rosemary explores the movement and energy of the natural world through her work.
Her work explores the tactile nature of the surface and plasticity of clay, pushing and exploring the development of those surfaces and forms. The processes involve inclusions, imprinting, stretching and distorting both surface and form. The work is then decorated with a variety of slips, oxides and glazes
Tickets are £35 per person for the workshop and includes all materials, a tea/coffee and cake.
If time allows, participants have the option to create an additional mandala at the cost of £5 payable directly to Rosemary.
