Come and meet Anne James Ceramics at the Heritage Centre for the next of our fortnightly ‘Meet the Maker’ events.

“I’ve been making ceramics for over 20 years, but took the plunge and went professional in 2019. It’s been going well, with my work now in 7 outlets in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

I’m happiest working in porcelain. It’s so delicate – and a challenge. As you’ll see from my work, I love to incorporate glass into my work, be it found sea glass or antique glass I’ve bought on my travels.

I love to make both functional and decorative ceramics using hand building techniques. My work is influenced by my garden, by holidays to lovely exotic locations, and a childhood growing up in Scotland, especially holidays to the West Coast.”
