Land of Oak & Iron are excited to host the next of our regular ‘Meet the Maker‘ events at the Heritage Centre in Winlaton Mill.  Our next Meet the Maker event is with artist Kumbha Sital.

Kumbha was born and grew up in the beautiful surroundings of the Himalayas in Nepal.  Her father is a Gurkha and when he retired from the Army, Kumbha came to live in England 15 years ago to join him.

Kumbha always enjoyed drawing and painting when at school but didn’t take it too seriously.  Her interest in painting really started after moving to the UK and she was encouraged by her family to continue painting.

“Mentored by Jean Picton – she gave me confidence in my work and helped to develop my own style . Although I feel my painting is very satisfying, the feeling I get when someone wants to buy one of my paintings and put it on their wall is fulfilling.

Nature is my favourite subject  to paint and most of my paintings are watercolour and mixed medium.”

Come and meet Kumbha at her ‘Meet the Maker’ event and help to support local artists and makers.

Some of Kumbha’s original artworks are also available to purchase for a limited period in the Heritage Centre shop for the 2 weeks running up to her in person event day.

‘Meet the Maker’ will be outside under cover of the gazebo unless the weather is cold/rainy – in which case it will be situated inside the Heritage Centre.
