Land of Oak & Iron are excited to host the next of our new ‘Meet the Maker‘ events at the Heritage Centre.

Come and meet pastel artist Mags Robinson in our large gazebo outside the Heritage Centre, just drop by anytime between 10am and 4pm to say hello.

Mags will be available to chat about creating her pastel artworks – you can also purchase some of her original pastel paintings, why not commission Mags to paint you something special.

“I am a local artist living in Shotley Bridge in County Durham.

I paint in soft pastels on pastel mat paper and card – my work covers many themes and styles and gives me the opportunity to try different skills and techniques.

I am a relatively unknown name in the world of art, as I only realised I could paint a couple of years ago after joining an art class.  I had never painted before, not even at school, but I have always had an artistic flair.

As the class began, I could see the improvements each week and how fast I could create something original with style and character.

Now I am looking forward to sharing my work more widely and hope my artwork brings other people as much enjoyment as it brings me.”
