A rare opportunity to see inside this 18th century furnace and learn how wrought iron was turned into steel through the cementation process. This is one of the few remaining examples of this type of furnace in the country and is the last remaining piece of evidence of cementation steelmaking in the north east.

Guided tours will be available around the furnace, or feel free to browse the information boards at your leisure.
