Event Details

Happy duo, the Hippy Hikers will be at the Heritage Centre with their wonderful pop-up stall selling a fantastic range of hand made arts and crafts, including tie dye products and charm bracelets.
They’re raising funds for a volunteer conservation trip to the Peruvian Amazon jungle with International Volunteers HQ (IVHQ).
Samantha and Freddie have backgrounds in land management, archaeology and wildlife, and a passion for the outdoors and adventure.  Through pop-up craft stalls and raffles. they are trying to raise money to help with travel, fees and visa costs.
“This project will allow us to help the local communities of the Amazon to manage and maintain their environment and support their local economy, as it is run by locals. Some of the tasks we will undertake include reforestation, trail conservation, animal inventories and research projects.

By volunteering with IVHQ on this project, we will be making a small contribution to the United Nations’ sustainable development goal on climate action. It’s important to act now as climate change affects everyone, everywhere”.

Pop down to the Heritage Centre to say hello to Samantha and Freddie, find out more about their trip to the Amazon and buy something special to help raise money for their conservation trip.
