Fan Bird Carving Workshop

sun02aug1:00 PMsun4:00 PMFan Bird Carving WorkshopLearn a traditional skill

Event Details

Fan birds originated in Russia and Eastern Europe as a traditional decoration hung in the home that catches gentle breezes and so draws the eye too.

Come and try your hand at making these lovely creatures, they are made from a single piece of wood using simple hand tools only. It needs a steady hand and steadier nerves when it comes to opening your birds wings to reveal your creation!

No previous experience is needed though we will be working with sharp hand tools and carving knives.

All the tools are supplied along with a selection of wood to work with.

The workshop has had an additional risk assessment carried out to comply with public health guidelines.

Did you know ‘We’re Good to Go’?  This industry standard is a way of letting you know we have made necessary changes to our day-to-day workings, including enhanced cleaning, social distancing measures and staff training.

Cost £30, places are strictly limited to enable time with each participant.

We expect places to book up quickly, so don’t put off booking and reserve your place as soon as possible.
