Event Details

It’s Summer Hols – and lots of free time to enjoy warm days together exploring and having fun! (Or splashing in the puddles if it’s been raining).

At Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre, the very talented ladies of out resident Derwent Threads sewing group have put together some beautiful textile mobiles especially for the summer holidays.

They’re hanging inside the Heritage Centre and some in the windows looking out onto the Courtyard.

Pick up a trail page and see if you can find them all – then choose your favourite to draw a picture of or write a story/poem about. If you would like us to display your child’s creation, please hand it into the café team and we will put it up in the Heritage Centre.

There is also a Wildlife Trail to follow and some nature colouring in pages and a Land of Oak & Iron activity booklet too.

Please pop a donation in the box next to the trail pages (or you could add when paying for refreshments in our café).

Suggested donation £1 (or a bit more if you’re able to) which helps us to host family friendly activities and events and for our charity owner Groundwork NE & Cumbria.

We hope to see you soon.
