Event Details

Listen to the delightful sounds of the dawn chorus from the top of Kite Hill with local ornithologist Michael Turner. After enjoying the bird song in this natural amphitheatre we will return to the Heritage Centre via a different route, looking out for more bird sightings, before refuelling with sandwiches and a hot drink.

We will meet at the Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre car park in Winlaton Mill at 4.15am for a 4.30am start. Leaving the centre we will walk (approx. 20 minutes) to Kite Hill. Apart from the grassed area of Kite Hill we will be on surfaced paths with varying gradients. Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriately for the weather with stout footwear. No dogs please.

Breakfast at café shrub will include a bacon, sausage or vegetarian sausage sandwich and a tea, filter coffee or juice.

Booking essential, charges apply.
