Join us at the Heritage Centre for an entertaining evening of fantastic live music and freshly prepared sweet and savoury crepes and waffles on the last Friday of April.
We normally have pizza on the last Friday of each month, but we fancied a change and are delighted to welcome Catherine and John from ‘Crepe Expectations’ in their beautifully converted horsebox – which has become a delightful crepe and waffle box!
“We only use the best quality ingredients, free range eggs and proper butter and cream in our batter, and only make our food freshly to order. We have a wide range of fillings and toppings, both savoury and sweet, and always have gluten free and vegan options available. For children or those with smaller appetites we can make smaller crepes and are happy to add whatever topping combinations our customers would like to try. We are passionate about creating a joyful pop up food experience”.
While you enjoy your crepes, waffles and a drink from our café – you will be entertained with live music from the fun and lively Hop, Skiffle & Jump.
Hop, Skiffle & Jump are the North East’s leading skiffle band. Playing authentic 50s songs they tell the story of how skiffle changed the world of popular music. Led by well known folk singer and guitarist Ken Tonge, their show recreates the lively, fun, join-in spirit of music in the late 50s. Ken is accompanied by Julie on fiddle, William on tea chest bass, Alison on washboard and another Alison dancing to their music – and not forgetting guitar by 13 year old Fred who has become a leading part of the band!
Expect to do a bit of singing along, listening to some funny anecdotes, joining the band table banging, foot stamping, skat singing and hand clapping for their finale, ‘Mama don’t allow’!
Alcoholic drinks (along with non alcoholic drinks) and sweet treats will be available to purchase from café shrub to enjoy alongside crepes, waffles and music. No need to book, just turn up and for a great evening between 6pm – 9pm (last food order 8.30pm).
Polite notice – only food and drink purchased from Lucca Pizza and café can be consumed on our premises inside and outside seating. Thank you.
