This year the Heritage Centre in Winlaton Mill celebrates its 5th Anniversary – how time flies by!

As part of our celebrations we will be joined by some great local musicians and singers to entertain you while enjoying refreshments and lunch from our café.

The Cloth Cap Temperance Band have performed here many times before and supported Land of Oak & Iron right from the beginning, so it’s great to have them back again for our 5th Anniversary!

Put together a group of some of the most experienced folk singers in the North East, point them at an audience and what do you get? Songs, tunes, humour, audience participation and a lot of fun! The band are a lively mix of excellent singers and musicians who have a wealth of entertaining material and play a multitude of instruments. Expect to hear Geordie songs, expect to laugh, expect to join in but, most of all, expect to have a really good time!”

Live performances outside in the Courtyard, with sessions being played between 1pm and 3pm (subject to weather).

‘Scoops n Smiles’ will also be selling lots of lovely flavours of ice cream from their heritage ice cream van too! So lets hope for sunshine so we can eat ice-cream whilst enjoying an afternoon of local songs and tunes!

Big Games – we will have some of our big games out for you to play – fancy a game of Snakes & Ladders and Croquet or trying not to topple the Jenga blocks!

Our Café will have a great menu to choose from, including a couple of Anniversary specials to eat inside or out in our Courtyard.

No need to book, just turn up and enjoy the live music, food and fun games.

Please note our outdoor seating areas (including courtyard, benches and planters) are reserved for customers who have purchased drinks/food from our on site café. Please support us by not bringing your own refreshments – our meadow area or wider country park can be used if you’re bringing your own picnic.
