Event Details

Our first 2 sessions booked really quickly – so we’re adding a 3rd session!  Be quick we’re expecting these to go fast too.

Saturday 7th October – 2.30pm.  Please scroll down to ‘Tickets’ and select the time slot.

‘True North Trades’ consists of a Blacksmith, Furniture Maker/Woodworker and a General Handyman, they specialise in a range of products, building talents and activities.

We’re really pleased that they will be joining us at the Heritage Centre to run their metalworking workshops where you will learn the ancient art of Blacksmithing, using tools and practices that have been used for over a thousand years!

Under their expert tutelage you will learn how to heat, shape, bend and twist a piece of steel from a regular bar into a work of art that you can take home and treasure forever.  In this course we will be creating spiral candle holders from a bar of round steel.

So why not treat yourself to this great workshop – learning the traditional skill of Blacksmithing and taking away a candle holder that you have hand-made yourself.  Come along with a friend, or maybe buy the workshop experience as a unique gift for someone special.

There are currently 2 different times workshops – when booking on the ticket page please select the time that you require.

Tickets £35. Limited places and booking essential.  We’re expecting these workshops to be popular, so please reserve your place as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Café special offer:  As a workshop participant, we are offering 30% off your food from our café on the day of your workshop, so why not enjoy a lunch, Butterfly Bridge Bite or cake before/after your workshop. (Please note this offer is for workshop participants food only).

SAFETY: Please note this course is available to anyone over the height of 4 feet tall, but under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. It is best not to wear open toed shoes or any clothing you would not wear near a bonfire.
