Event Details

Stop unwelcome intruders and protect our wetland habitat. Himalayan balsam is a non-native invasive species that can take over unless we do something to stop it. Tyne Rivers Trust volunteers will be working alongside teams from Land of Oak & Iron and Gateshead Countryside Volunteers as they tackle this unwelcome outsider along the banks of the River Derwent.

Please wear suitable clothing for working in undergrowth, long sleeves and trousers are advisable. Bring a packed lunch and a drink, gloves will be provided.

Meet at the Heritage Centre at 10am, then walk to the work site together.

Please contact Jenny if you would like to go along to ensure she has enough equipment for everyone.
