Land of Oak & Iron are excited to be part of the new Tyne Derwent Way which is being launched in April
Come along to Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre and join artist Josie Brookes to make your own illustrated paper Bird, inspired by wildlife local to the Tyne Derwent Way!
The Tyne Derwent Way is home to many species of birds. It’s such a great habitat area for lots of wildlife and birds, and at this time of year birds are busy making nests and finding food for themselves and their broods.
You can read our special ‘Riverside Newspaper’ to discover just what these local birds eat, then have fun drawing your own selection to go into your bird’s special pouch!
This activity involves, cutting, sticking and drawing, adult supervision required for younger participants.
Drop into anytime between 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm. The activity will take around 20 minutes to complete.
No need to book, free to attend!
Our café will be open for breakfasts, lunch, snacks and a range of hot and cold drinks to enjoy. (Please note only food and drink bought from our café may be consumed on our site, including the Courtyard, planters and benches).
