Volunteer Tree Planting
At the beginning of March, some of our wonderful volunteers teamed up with staff from the Land of Oak & Iron to plant trees in Willow Burn Wood near Allensford.
A mixture of one hundred Oak, Mountain Ash and Cherry trees were planted during the day, adding to the young trees already planted in Willow Burn Hospice’s memorial woodland, which was given to the hospice by Sir Tom Cowie.
The first trees originally planted were in the design of a willow tree shape, which is the Willow Burn Hospice logo.
Willow Burn Wood is now a local amenity for the local community for recreational and educational use.
Looking across the landscape, it was inspiring to think we were helping to create a woodland for future generations to enjoy.
