Support Prudhoe Award Winners
Local people in Prudhoe reclaiming an overgrown cemetery have been recognised for their hard work. Members of Prudhoe & District Local History Society are out twice a week, working in the cemetery and have won a LOVE Northumberland award and came third in the recent Prudhoe in Bloom awards.
The volunteers are in St Mary Magdalene Cemetery every Wednesday and Friday morning between 10am and 12.30pm, clearing undergrowth, uncovering graves and discovering the stories of those buried there. Land of Oak & Iron has supported the project with a Community Grant towards the costs of the work.
The group would welcome any new comers to see what they have achieved or to get involved.
