Recognise your communities environmental achievements

Has your neighbourhood or village been improved recently by a local person or group? Derwent Valley Partnership are inviting nominations for projects or activities in their area, (the Durham part of Land of Oak & Iron), which have made a local community a better place to live and work.

Experience has shown that undertaking work in your community to improve the environment, fosters a sense of pride and encourages the wider community to care more about where they live and how they view their local area more positively. Derwent Valley Partnership would like to recognise these achievements at an awards ceremony in the autumn and are asking people to register voluntary activities such as planting schemes, litter picks, tackling grot spots or anything that has made a place ‘clean & tidy’.
