Land of Oak & Iron to be future proofed
Discuss the future of Land of Oak & Iron at our Planning for the Future event, from 9.30am to 1pm on Saturday 20th October at the Winlaton Centre on North Street, Winlaton. The event is open to anyone and everyone with an interest in Land of Oak & Iron, from partner organisations and community groups, to volunteers and individuals. We will celebrate achievements to date and launch the legacy development to a wider audience. The workshops at the event will look at the legacy of the Landscape Partnership post its current Heritage Lottery Fund grant.
The Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre which we recently opened at Winlaton Mill, will be the most tangible and visible legacy of the landscape partnership. It is one of the gateways to our area and is likely to be the first point of contact that most people have with the Land of Oak & Iron.
The legacy development work is being carried out by Social Enterprise Acumen who have recently been appointed to identify viable legacy options and a proposed delivery model for these once Heritage Lottery Fund support ends in December 2019. Social Enterprise Acumen provide capacity building support and advice to help develop concepts and grow business. They have relatable experience of taking partnership projects to the next stage, a very ‘can do’ approach and an experienced team.
The event will finish with lunch which will be provided. Places are filling up fast, please book soon as registration closes on Sunday 15th October.
