Land of Oak & Iron Celebration Film

This is a big year for the Land of Oak & Iron as we mark our fourth anniversary of the project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and hosted by Groundwork North East & Cumbria coming to an end.  A lot can be achieved when working strategically with stakeholders and partners in a relatively short space of time, and so we want to celebrate all that we have accomplished, while looking to an exciting future for the Land of Oak & Iron.

We’ve succeeded in breathing new life into the history and heritage of the region for future generations to enjoy.  We are excited to see how our team of volunteers led by the Land of Oak & Iron Trust further develops all that the area has to offer people living locally and those travelling to the area from afar in the future.  The Trust will continue working closely with Groundwork and strategic partners in Local Authorities including Gateshead, Durham County Council and Northumberland County Council to identify opportunities and collaboratively achieve aims.

We had planned to bring people together in June to formally celebrate all that we have achieved, but currently this can no longer happen with needing to work and socialise in a very different way.  So, we put our heads together and came up with the idea of creating a Land of Oak & Iron film.  With the help of some of our friends and colleagues this short film reflects on some of the wonderful acheivements over the past four years and looks ahead to an exciting future.

Please take a look at the film on our YouTube channel and our infographics which illustrate some of our achievements.
