Forging Ahead – 4 May 2020

This week’s newsletter is all about our feathered friends which can be seen while out on a quiet walk in the Lower Derwent Valley.  We also take a look at the tapestry of life found along the River Derwent as illustrated by a friendly bunch of talented sewers, based at the neighbouring site of National Trust’s Gibside.

We are thankful for the many beautiful outdoor spaces to be explored across the Land of Oak & Iron – you can discover more about the country parks, woodlands and wildlife via the Land of Oak & Iron Explore our Countryside webpages, including Allensford, Tyne Riverside and Derwent Country Parks, which are all free to wander through.

Please follow the current guidelines of staying within your local area and practice the now familiar social distancing.
