Expressions of Interest Sought from Contractors for Heritage Centre Build
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are being sought by Groundwork NE & Cumbria for a grant funded construction project in Gateshead, North East England.
Groundwork is a charity and social enterprise seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably experienced and qualified contractors to deliver a flagship and iconic construction contract to build the Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre in the Derwent Valley, Gateshead, see http://landofoakandiron.org.uk/news_type/heritage-centre-winning-design-unveiled/. This unique building will be a visitor attraction and hub, including a café, exhibition and office space.
The project consists of two separate contracts: selective tendering for the new building approximate value £750,000 excluding VAT and a second for the enabling and landscaping approximate value £125k excluding VAT. Please note this is to be built on a reclaimed site; contractors must have experience of delivering similar sized and types of projects and can express interest in either or both contracts. For more details please download the Land Of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre EOI Brief. The EOI will require examples, testimonials and references of previous similar projects delivered; preference will be made for contractors that can demonstrate added value to this exciting charitable project.
The deadline for return is 12 noon Friday 9th September. Tender documents will be issued in October and works on site will commence Summer 2017; prices must be held during this period and the contract award will be subject to confirmation of successful external funding bids. No liability will be accepted for work involved in making any submissions and no guarantee is given that a contract will be offered.
