Coronavirus – Land of Oak & Iron
Land of Oak & Iron’s response to Coronavirus
17th March 2020
Following the most recent Government advice, Land of Oak & Iron has taken the difficult decision to cancel planned volunteer activity and events until the end of April 2020. This includes woodland volunteer tasks with Peter Downes through Durham Wildlife Trust.
The health and well-being of our volunteers and supporters is incredibly important to us, and we will continue to closely follow the advice of the Government and UK health authorities.
Whilst our organised activities may not be happening, we hope you all still manage to keep enjoying the spring air and beautiful landscape of the Land of Oak & Iron by going for woodland and riverside walks, keeping social distancing measures in mind.
café shrub in the Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre remains open for hot drinks, delicious meals and tasty treats. Our new exhibition ‘Fireweed and Furnaces’ is also on display in the foyer area, with artworks by Cathy Duncan and sketch book illustrations by designer Steve Pardue – we hope to see you soon.
