Congratulations to our grant recipients!
Over £28,500 has now been awarded to local groups and organisations within Land of Oak & Iron, to support them in bringing heritage to the heart of our communities! Projects have covered a diverse range of activities such as intergenerational photography and film making, traditional willow fence making, research into local heritage, improving disabled access, bird ringing and nest box schemes, reclaiming a local graveyard to uncover lost headstones and discover the stories of the people buried there and purchasing canoes to allow young people to explore the river Derwent.
Grants of £500 – £2,000 are available with the next round closing at the end of September 2017. If you would like to start preparing an application please read the Community Grants Guidelines and Community Grants FAQs.
We ask all potential applicants to contact Karen Daglish, Land of Oak & Iron Partnership Manager to have a chat about their project idea before submitting an application.
Applications are submitted online with our partner County Durham Community Foundation.
