Celebrating 25 years of Heritage Open Days

25th anniversary of Heritage Open DaysWe are proud to once again be supporting this national festival as it celebrates 25 years of opening doors to England’s heritage, community and history. Supported by over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers it is the country’s largest festival of history and culture.

We’re very excited that our Hands on Heritage event has been included in Heritage Open Days (HODs) Top Ten Events for Families blog post. Wander into Chopwell Wood on Sunday 22nd September and you can have a go at  traditional skills, watch a heavy horse in action and or discover 100 years of forestry with a selection of vehicles through the ages.

Discover our unique and interesting heritage with Land of Oak & Iron’s 2019 events programme, or explore wider afield with the Heritage Open Days website.
