Celebrate the north east’s mining and industrial railway heritage at the world’s oldest railway. With live music, displays, artefacts and banners, Tanfield Railway’s heritage weekend will have something for the whole family.

The vintage passenger train and demonstration National Coal Board freight train will both be in operation and there will be tours round the Marley hill engine shed. Charges apply for train rides.
